The hotel chain has just revealed a new signature dish after a huge competition which brought together the world’s best chefs. Here’s what you need to know…

The new star dish was announced at the Waldorf Astoria New York, where guests and a panel of culinary stars gathered to select the next Taste of Waldorf Astoria from five dishes created in the kitchens of Waldorfs in Berlin, Rome, Edinburgh and beyond. The competition russell up beautiful creations like this, but ultimately the winning dish was something rather unusual indeed…
The Taste of Waldorf Astoria has taken place over the last few months, and there have been stunning dishes put forward, such as the beautiful Venison Scotch Egg created by The Galvin Brothers and Cara Stadler at The Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh. Nom.

The dish is the result of a week-long collaboration in Rome between Heinz Beck and Chef David Posey – two heroes of the Waldorf culinary scene. It was chosen by a panel of four judges, including bon appétit Restaurant & Drinks Editor Andrew Knowlton and Nilou Motamed.

The dish represents more than just a plate of food; the hotel’s James Beard Foundation is passionate about promoting young chefs and fostering talent – they use the talent of the emerging and energetic chefs with a fresh energy to the kitchens of established masters to create something truly special.
