1. Get Married at the Southbank’s Festival of Love

What: To celebrate the year in which same-sex marriage became legal, Southbank Centre is creating the Big Wedding Weekend. All couples, gay and straight, young and old, are invited to marry or renew their vows at the Royal Festival Hall stage, with its world-famous organ, accompanied by choirs and fanfares.

2. Support Social Enterprise at The Bit Beyond

What: A new market supporting social enterprise and ethical business in east London, The Bit Beyond is back this Saturday 30th August. The focus of the market isn’t on making money, it’s on supporting ethical start-ups and companies with conscience.

3. Enjoy a summer picnic & BBQ with Disappearing Dining Club

What: This Saturday, DDC are taking over The Paperworks, creating the perfect urban paradise, with sun decks, astroturf lawns, gardens of wildflowers, bean bag loungers, and picnic benches. The picnic includes Smoked Salmon & Lemon Crème Fraiche, Chicken Liver Parfait, and Smoked Sweetcorn Ceviche. And for BBQ, there’s Squid, Prawn, Lemon & Chipotle Skewers, Salt Grilled Picanha, BBQ Lamb’s Tongue & Rouille and summer salads including Rice, Coconut, & Mango, Giant Cous Cous, Aubergine & Chick Pea.
